Beauty Highlight of the Week: Duckie Thot

by - September 30, 2018

Model, fashionista, and cover-girl Naydak "Duckie" Thot is a sight to see. When the exotic, dark-skinned beauty is not gracing the cover of Harper's Bazaar, she is busy modeling for Rihanna's FentyBeauty line.
The 22-year-old has already launched a great career for herself. Shortly after winning third place on the eighth cycle of Australia's Next Top Model, the Australian-Sudanese model started her first gig on the Yeezy runway show in 2017. Since then, she has been featured on the covers of Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, Paper and many others. Duckie was also recently announced as the new face of L’Oréal Paris.

This month, the infamous band Chic, revealed their album cover for "It's About Time" and featured her alongside model Jazzelle Zanaughtti. This is Chic's first album cover in over 25 years, so it's kind of a big deal.
So what beauty secrets can we uncover from this melanin goddess? Things definitely starts with genetics. Beauty naturally runs in her family as she is also the sister of model and popular  YouTuber, Nikki Perkins. Checkout the video of them chatting together during a sister tag a few years ago.

A few beauty products that Duckie uses are:
  • Coconut oil (very affordable)
  • Lavender oil eye moisturizer (affordable)
  • Byredo body lotion (pricey)
  • SK-II night cream (priciest)

Overall, her beauty regimen is focused on maintaining her skins moisture levels. She has also mentioned using a lip scrub and adding castor oil to her hair. As a model, of course she has clean diet, active lifestyle and drinks plenty of water. Similar to me, she enjoys a nice cup of green tea as well. There are so many benefits of drinking green tea. It is often called the healthiest thing you can drink other than water. It includes antioxidants, powerful nutrients and fat burning properties.

Lastly, Duckie makes sure to wear a good 30 SPF sunscreen. This is also something highly recommended by Gabrielle Union. Sometimes women with natural melanin do not feel the need to wear SPF, but everyone needs to protect their skin from the sun's harmful rays.

Stay on the look out for more of Duckie Thot in the upcoming Victoria's Secret runway show this November.

Happy Sunday!
